Private Social Investment in Tourism

LETS participated as an academic partner in the pioneering study launched today at the University of Brasilia.

A proposta nasceu da Raízes 360, uma parceria entre as empresas Roots Sustainable Development e Turismo 360 Consultoria. Para o desenvolvimento metodológico foi convidada a Universidade de Brasília (UNB) que rapidamente aderiu ao propósito por meio do LETS – Laboratory of Tourism and Sustainability Studies, parceiro acadêmico da iniciativa. Se uniram, também, como parceiro de divulgação, o Turismo Spot (plataforma de difusão de pesquisas e artigos de turismo),e como apoio institucional a Boticário Group Foundation (atualmente uma das iniciativas mais atuantes no ISP em ações envolvendo turismo) e a bridgePoint (empresa especializada no suporte ao ISP), com o apoio do Group of Institutes, Foundations and Companies (GIFE).

The formation of the group began in 2022 and the first interviews with a questionnaire co-created by this alliance will take place in July 2023. Qualitative and in-depth data were collected from the main actors of private social investment in Brazil, whether they are companies, institutes or foundations.

The desire of those involved is to generate and share reflections on how companies already impact (and can impact more) society with actions in the tourism sector and its entire broad chain.
